You might want to look at a probiotics regiment if cheese tends to help you out (cheese is basically pressed milk fat and bacteria, it's tasty though!). Not sure why the flora isn`t staying in your system, but it would be something to check out.
For those of us who have a biological background, it makes sense. The comment was more for someone who didn't have the background. I could see not getting "what" an epigenome even is from the song, or why food affects it.

I too have IBS and it's wierd but if i eat alot of cheese, any cheese, it helps me alot with this problem. I`ve had IBS ever since i had my gallbladder removed and a gastroenterologist precribed me an old medecine that was once used for bringing down cholesterol,*Cholestyramine* and since then my life has changed immensely for the better. It works!

Ibs can be triggered by gluten and or lactose. I am fine with both, my mother and daughter cannot tolerate them, but a family gathering in an enclosed space does mean we avoid naked flames!
