ericka225 Female, 18-29, Western US 219 Posts	Sunday, June 6, 2010 8:02:20 PM @DickenMchunt i uderstand your point and yes i understand what u mean wanting to buy something to treat yourself everynow and then i fully agree. what i ment is when i see people having $1000 dollar cards and buyin things like "lobster, steak, cookies, soda, CANDY" and alot of it and not just for them for their friends too! and i am not reffering to the people who have a job or are honestly looking for work. those people deserve it. what i AM reffering to is those lazy ass people who dont have a job and dont look and use any excuse to not get one. when i worked at foodlion we recently closed down and you everyone was asking what we were going to do we said idk. u no what one guy said to me .. forget about it file for unemployment get foodstamps have a vacation. and that is what in my opinion those lazy asses are thinking. i dont think my tax money shold be payin for those who dont want to contribute to society and then want to make an ass of themselves when they do get a hand

If I was in that situation those are things that i would want made available to me. I understand that you`re saying that should be grateful for what they do get and I agree- when I worked in a grocery store the people on food stamps always tried to get things that they couldn`t get and got pissed at me when they wouldn`t ring up. At the same time I can imagine being in that situation and having to eat the SAME poo day after day after day and wanting something else. I think it`s more important to raise the bottom line standards in our country because we`re only as good as the worst of us, and we`re only as well-off as the most unfortunate of us.

If I could, I would walk up to the SRS tomorrow and tell them to close my case. But the reality is I can't. My husband works a minimum wage job that barely gives him 15 hours a week and I`m in college trying to make things better for our little girl. Also I agree with therach, there is NOTHING wrong with buying a little treat once in a while after you make sure you have what is important.
