There's another detail that makes the steam engine thing stand out more - there was a railway existing at the same time. It was well known when Hero invented his steam engine. But who would think about something as silly as using an amusing toy to move wagons along tracks?

the Romans invented a tone of stuff that was forgotten in the middle ages besides concrete, they actually had running water!

@Fatninja - Not so much the song, the legends performing the tribute - that was Harrison's induction to the hall of fame and there are gods on that stage.
