I use my phone as an MP3 player with Jabra BT620s Bluetooth stereo headphones, and it sounds GREAT. If I get a call, it beeps and all I have to do is tap the left earphone. The music pauses, and I can talk hands-free. Then when the call ends, the music resumes where it left off. A 2Gb SD card holds ~400 min. @320.
The key point being that you're playing music through headphones.

"What bugs me is anyone playing anything through their mobile phone."

" It's only any good for playing right next to your ear. Don`t inflict that crap on everyone nearby."
the idiots who think they`re jamming like that have as much audiophilos (love of music) as the idiots who have anything more than a 8" sub in a car, especially if they`re laying heavy on the bass (3 12" full blast bass, no treble). now I`ll admit, I play my phone`s music for myself when I either don`t have headphones handy or working somewhere that I`m not so interested in the music as I am the item or people (ie working on the pool listening to the pump but can`t stand complete silence)
also mp3 encoding has gone up hill (lossy), its no FLAC (lossless), but according to scientist who student humans and sound, they argue one can hardly if even tell the difference in most cases. the ones who CAN tell the difference already have the equipment to play lossless as they are true audiophiles.
