Eh you can't say it`s a French version of Fear Factor when a) neither the French or British versions were anything like it and b) Fort Boyard came before Fear Factor.

Besides Fear Factor, made in 2001, was an adaption of the Dutch Now or Neverland, made in 1998. Also the year the U.K Fort Boyard was made, the French Fort Boyard I think 1990.
