elkingo, there's a big difference that you seem to be missing, here. dogs are not wild animals. they have been domesticated for thousands of years. if a dog is vicious, it is because it is ill or has been trained to be that way. killing the dog is not about revenge (like, say, stoning?) it is about stopping the problem. killing is in the nature of an orca, they`re highly clever pack hunters. killing is what they do. the trainers were working with a wild animal. as in wild. after killing its trainers (what`s the last count? three?) then it should be put down, humanely. but stoning? it`s cruel, and an excuse for revenge against an animal that doesn`t realize it`s done something wrong.
