I remember another news report, where they said they only did it to some laptops that had been stolen. Then all this started. But is it really that big of a surprise? Cell phones have features for parents and others to log onto a site and see where their kids are, I can do that with my laptop and desktop too. There are hundreds of sites offering software to remotely use other computers. Sure it's wrong since they were watching kids, but sometimes, the things the kids do themselves, is worse. Just watch youtube...

if my kids ever come home with a school issued laptop, first thing that happens is a HDD format... Even before i read this article i knew it was only a matter of time before government issued laptops became a vessel for someone to stick their nose into your personal life. There's so many things wrong with this story i don`t know where to start. A child gets disciplined at school for `bad` behavior at HOME?
Try going to the school and telling them you`re installing a remotely accessible camera in your kids classroom and see how it goes over.
