Yes, there are atheists that believe that there is no God as strongly as fundy xians believe there is one.
However, the vast majority of atheists do not. Most atheists have no belief over it; they do not believe that there is a god, they also do not believe that there isn't. This is lack of religion. I don`t believe that Santa exists, nor do I believe that he does not. Santa might exist. But he probably doesn`t. There are so many things that could exist that something without evidence probably does not.

-MrRubik: That's fine, I don`t care which way you put it. My point is that if one does not know a fact, they may explain things by either saying: "I do not know", or "It must be x". If someone says: "it MUST BE X" because their belief system does not allow any other explanation, then they are following a religion; be it Christian, Jew, Muslim, Space Aliens, or Atheist. My original point was that there are atheists who believe in the absence of a deity so strongly, they are practicing a fundamentalist religion. -Zequr: I don`t know what you are, and as long as you do not attack those that believe in gods or chance, does it really matter in this context?

@Sandtalker: You're looking at it completely the wrong way. It is believers who have swapped `Random Chance` for `God`, which is what people always do when they come across something they don`t understand.
