I really think you guys are not fully understanding the situation. People were injured and buildings were damaged by these protestors. They interfered with the operation of the city and threatened it's citizens. I cannot give you video because I do not beleive such video exists. What I can give you, as I live in Pittsburgh, is a firsthand account that these protestors turned violent. Not all of them. But what do you expect the police to do, wade into a crowd of potential hostiles to grab one person who is guilty of a more serious crime, or everybody that had already violated the city`s containment agreement? And republics are democracies, you need to take a civics class. As for Europeans broadly generaling the American sociopolitical sphere, particularly lycosam, I would ask you to show a shred of respect to Americans and at least have the decency not to label about 200 million people incorrectly.

:: it can be anywhere from nothing to a city ordinance to inciting a riot and a few places ::
First, I'd like to know if anyone has any footage or links to that footage of a masked man throwing a rock. If you do, have a look...that masked man can be arrested and charged with a felony which would be inciting a riot, yes, however, the police still do not have grounds to escalate a situation. These Pittsburgh officers obviously threw the de-escalation portion of the academy out of the window.
Misdemeanors and city ordinance violations, perhaps but nowhere have I seen anything that would show inciting a riot. Secondhand hearsay accounts being what they are, show me a video of those events occurring.
As for democracy, America never has been and is not now a democracy. It`s a constitutional republic and should remain that way.

America and the UK both have the same problems. That said, I'd rather live in Britain where the state, overarching as it is, is at least liberal and essentially left-wing, as opposed to the US where batpoo mental religious conservatives seem to be in control of so much.

listpoos - your damn right man. "paperwork" this paperwork is a tool of control, where is your god given rights? life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, you dont submit paperwork to be born, although through paper work the government will know of your existance an issue you a number, why then if you are protesting and assembling something would you turn yourself in with paperwork that will surely be declined. you dont ask to use your rights, you take them! "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson
this country is tired of govnt oppression! only brainwashed liberals cant see the government is evil!!
