Personally I think you all need to view the maths on this. Here in the UK I pay a % of my income as National Insurance & Taxes. This covers my healthcare. It also covers my childrens care, my parents etc. It is used to fund the hospitals, doctors, nurses, ambulances etc. Now my understanding in the US currently you can chosse to pay a premium to an Insurance company for Helathcare insurance. The difference is in your system someone is creaming off a profit - the Insurance company. So dollar for dollar, pound for pound our system provides 100% of the funds towards healthcare, yours creates huge profits for middle men. Why can you not see that?

"Why can you not see that?"
Why does this surprise anyone? Look at what system we are living under: we live under the sign of the dollar. It's capitalism, folks. What would our society look like if no one lived to make a profit? Is anyone considering the full implications?
