It might be safe - but I wouldn't be able to sleep, I`d be constantly waiting for the fall.... I once fell drunkenly asleep in a greenhouse on a rickety sunlounger.. As I dozed off I felt myself slide into a deep sl..BANG. Over on one side, head through a glass pane, suddenly sober looking back up at the jagged hanging over my neck.
These guys could fall for hundreds of yards, blissfully unaware in their slumber...

Um no dude. In extreme alpine climbs the SAFEST place for a tent is hanging in the lee of an overhang, from the point of view of avalanches, rainstorms, animals, meltwater, unsafe ice under the foundational snow, etc. Also the rocks absorb heat during the day and release it at night.
