OK, now this is the definition of overkill. Like aboredfool said, they coulda just explained why it wasn't a suitable place and asked her to move it for her safety. No, instead the government shut down a seven year-old`s lemonade stand. Sad.
Good cause or not, she WAS trying to do something to improve her life, or at least give her great memories.

they could have asked her or her dad to just move the stand a bit farther back or something, not shut it down. but apparently, doing that would be too hard

$2 a glass!! She deserved to be shut down for price gouging. And yes, the irony of trying to teach her "no free rides", and then getting the tickets for free is very sweet indeed. Lesson learned: Cry and look cute, then everyone will give me what I want. She's well on the way to womanhood.
$2 a glass is actually a really good deal for 32 oz. What is it at most kid run lemonade stands?: Like 6 oz. for 1$. Not price gouging at all.

i'm sorry but REALLY? They seriously shut down a kid`s freaking lemonade stand? That is just ridiculous. i don`t care if it was on a busy street...the dad was just trying to teach her how to make her own money. He could have just bought the tickets himself i`m sure but he wanted to teach her a lesson. I applaud him and think the city is stupid. The end

I live in Tulare and it's not like this little girl was standing next to or in the street. The street is surrounded by orchards and dirt fields. People sell roses and strawberries around that area as well. I think it was made into too big of a deal for no reason, but either way she got what she wanted.
It wasn`t a "good cause" but many families here can`t afford to go places like Disney Land. It`s really sad.
