Andy Warhol was gay as the day is long, John was straight but supposedly slept with openly gay Brian Epstein, who became the Beatles Manager (and probably the greatest rock and roll manager ever) because, according to their biographer, he "fancied them" - John admitted it but later insisted that he said it "as a joke"
What's the big deal, anyway?
Oddly enough, prior to signing on with the Beatles, Brian Epstein tried to become manager for young David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd fame) group "Jokers Wild" since Gilmour was so hot, but Gilmour got a bad vibe from Epstein, which was correct, since Epstein really was trying to get him into bed. Odd how rock history could have been different if David Gilmour had been a bit more open minded.
