He's going to be a nurse. Wouldn`t it be great if 20 or 30 years from now, she ends up in the hospital under his care?

Going too slow has nothing to do with it; I graduated recently with a large class and the people in charge stressed the fact that you could take your time walking across the stage so people could get pics, because really, it's one of the most important moments of your life. If it runs over a little bit, no one really cares (except obnoxious people in the audience, who should be ignored anyway). People should be allowed to make gestures or poses as long as they aren`t obscene. It makes watching the ceremony bearable.
