AI are only somewhat clever in car games. Then, their task is relatively simple, one isn't flooded by complex tasks such as copying body movements realistically.

That said, they often suck at this simple task too. I am looking at you Polyphony Digital and their Gran Turismo. You are driving a heavy, high power machine. You slide in neatly, predictably and carefully in in front of an opponent, and what happens when you come to a corner? You brake early, because of your vehicle`s mass, and the little bastard AI who has superior braking capabilities, rams you mercilessly from behind. It`s as if they asume that all opponents have the same skill, alertness and performance (braking, accelerating and handling).

Oh I so agree, I would LOVE to kill game children. Mainly because it'd be a new angle on my murderous rampages of NPC Mowdowns, and before you people start waving the "Insanity Flag" I know the line between fantasy and reality here.

What I like in AI is the options you can have with them. FFXII had VERY advanced AI, you programmed it yourself with things called Gambits. You could really rely on your team that way.

Ha... I love this article. I can completely relate with the AI. Want my own personal story? No? To frigin' bad.

I start going on a rampage on fallout 3, killing everyone in megaton. Jericho is with me, and all is fine- but then I run out of ammo. Angry, I pull out my chinese officer`s sword and start swiping some more. After we finally kill everyone, the brahmin is left, so I swipe at him. What does Jericho do? "Oh f*** no, I don`t take that sh** from nobody!" And turns hostile towards me. Brahmin lover. :|

Oh and Mornaf, if you`d like to kill kids in a game, get fallout for the PC and download a mod that makes them killable. Or enter a psych ward. I`d prefer you do the latter, but that`s just me. :P
