In my self defense class, I learned to either go for the neck, eyes, or groin area. If you kick someone in the kneecap it doesn't really do a whole lot.

I'd say instead of the knee a downward kick on the shin of course that could relly mess up said persons leg.

looked like they were dancing, haha Opie - I thought that there were fewer nerve endings in the knee so it wouldn't hurt as much (Unless you mean the back of the knee)
