Gas Explosion At Strip Mall Caught On Camera. They`re calling this a natural gas leak, but it looks like a tidy bundle of dynamite aslpoded judging from the blast.

Conejito1011, its called that because its built as a strip of stores (so i assume). Strip malls arent inside actual mall buildings, they are seperate series of stores chained together.

mac n cheese, I'm afraid you`re mistaken. Very rarely will you see complete combustion, and even then, under very controlled circumstances. You`re going to end up with airborne carbon and hydrogen (Consider the large volume of smoke billowing out of the wreckage), and the reaction uses far less oxygen than complete combustion. There`s only one detonation, the initial one- even if some of the gas doesn`t combust, it`s dispersed too much to combust even if more oxygen is added.
Furthermore, there`s not going to be two explosions, even with complete combustion. The energy is dissipated extremely rapidly, and the chain reaction cannot continue. The closest you can get to this sort of multiple-explosion event is continual combustion, i.e. burning it continuously as fuel.
Oh, and you forgot the obvious- all the water released by the combustion is in gaseous form, and therefore the volume stays far too close to the starting amount to cause an implosion.
