That strategy worked for civilized nations, but how do you deal with a fanatical, superstitious madman who has no fear of death? Ahmadinajad dreams of martyrdom, and he has said he wants to bring about the end of days. A total nuclear holocaust would fit his warped vision precisely, and if NoKo can sell him the technology to bring that about, it just saves him the time it would take to develop it himself.
