Red Victor 1 is something similar, but he races on standard fuel too and does 7.41 on it. Look at the Frosty TV link to see lots of video, including two profession segments from Fifth Gear. They got one thing wrong - he doesn't examine the engine every time he drives it around town.
I think it`s better in a sense, because he started with such an inappropriate car. The Vauxhall Victor he`s using was a crappy family car built in 1972. Aerodynamics weren`t even considered because it was never meant to go over about 80.
Insurance is only £875 a year on that. Interesting - I was expecting it to cost a farcical amount. I suppose no-one would dare to steal it.

This thread is so full of idiots that it has surprised me despite my many years online.
The thread title describes the most notable fact about the car that can be described in a few words.
The video is a reasonable one giving a bit of background on the car, something interesting to people who are into this sort of thing.
More than enough information was given to enable anyone who wasn't an idiot to find videos of the car doing a quarter mile. It takes only a few seconds to do so.
Posting a link to a few seconds of video would have caused complaints too.
Idiots.
0-60 in 1s is really a matter of the tires having enough grip to handle the torque. With enough torque to accelerate that hard, it`s easy to destroy the tires.
