The difference between torture and interrogation is that cooperating and truth telling stop things from happening to you when you are interrogated, not when you are being tortured. To me everything that was going on was interrogation.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!
#1 -- The reason they were put in Cuba was so they would not fall under the American Constitution. No due process, no speedy trial, none of "our" rights...remember, these people are literally dying to kill ANY non-muslim, American or not....
#2 -- Where are these people going? Um, maybe from the reasonable protection of the US military to a country where they will be seriously tortured and killed. Say "I'm sorry Cuba, your island isn`t nice enough for our detainees, we`re taking them somewhere else."
Doesn`t matter though, this is just a political move to please the base....Executive orders can take months to be carried out, if they aren`t overturned first...

The problem with Guantanamo Bay comes down to this, at least for me. Torture automatically assumes that a suspect is guilty, and that if you keep torturing them they will tell the truth. Torture completely ignores the "innocent until proven guilty" axiom, so if a prisoner really is innocent they're still screwed. Prisoners will do anything to get released, even falsely confessing. People in Gitmo have even confessed to things that didn`t happen, like assassinating George W. Bush. Torture is effective at getting answers from people, but it has nothing to do with finding the truth. Sorry for the essay, but it`s something I`ve thought about quite a bit.

Good! This is great news.
For all the people wondering where will all the suspected terrorists go, well, they aren't getting let loose, on the streets. They are going to other countries, where our military will keep with them. When our gov. put the suspected terrorists in GITMO, they put them there with out trial, without the access to a lawyer, and without a conviction. This stands against EVERYTHING America was made for. In America, EVERYONE, terrorist, or not, has the right to a fair trial.
