I didn't just say the waitresses. I realise that a lot of places pool the tips and divide them. If my food is cold, or poorly cooked, that`s the cook`s fault. If I order a screwdriver and get a fuzzy navel instead, that`s the bartender`s fault. If overall the service is bad, The tip should and will reflect that. It irritates me when the staff thinks they deserve a tip, regardless of the service.

Morguebabe, you don't HAVE to tip. Food service staff only gets paid less than minum wage because most people DO tip. I consider tipping as a reflection of the service and quality that I receive, and it it`s substandard, the tip I leave, if any, will reflect that.
