I disagree with the Dark Knight entry - I think the point of the Joker is that he's so drated up and hate filled that, while he`s fine dying at any minute, he wants to do as much damage as possible before he goes. So he has plan after plan after plan. I`m sure he had more plans after the boats, or other plans in case one failed. He was also fine with just being shot in the face by Harvey.
