"Considering you're talking here about someone who may have been 19 having sex with a 17 year old, I don`t think so. Maybe evaluate it on a case by case basis.
Some 19 year old just out of highschool doing the dirty with a girl just about to leave highschool is not a risk to some 8 year old wanting candy any more than a non-offender.
If it`s case by case, that`s another matter. Obviously a known child molester (some 30 year old guy abusing some 5 year old), then you have an entirely different story. "

SilverThread: For a long time the majority was a-ok with little things like slavery and persecuting minority religions. I guess the abolitionists should have reevaluated their positions huh?

I'm going to play devil`s advocate here. honestly the law for this is stupid. People have to be posted as a sex offender on the web that is enough. tell them they can`t give out candy. where I am from, if you don`t give out candy you turn you porch light off. If you do give out candy you turn the porch light on. Just tell these people to leave the porch light off and follow those standards. At the rate things are going more and more restrictions are going to be placed on things that don`t need restrictions not just for sex offenders. Yes i believe we need to know who they are. Yes i believe they should have limited rights. Do convicted murderers who have gotten out of prison have to do this? no, but they are just as high a risk too.
