On the contrary. If you're close enough to witness the initial explosion, you`re blind afterward. The flash is so intense it causes permanent damage to your eyes.. inducing blindness. (Thus why you`ll often see old footage of soldiers standing around wearing welder`s goggles)
Personally, Nukes are amazing and offer a WHOLE new doorway into so many technological advances (good) in every day life.. but of course they can destroy you and this world in a flash..
Just think.. what destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki AND went off in the Tsar bomb... is the same energy, same reaction, same sequence that has fueled our existence here on the Earth because of the Sun.
