What's the big deal? I freely confess schadenfreude at the stupidity of humans to build a city under sea level... next to the friggin` ocean. Yeah, move back there, ladies and gentlemen, it`s sure never to happen again! This time we`re really ready for another one...

"people who lost everything in New Orleans after Katrina, and had to start fresh, are just stupid if they went back there."

I think that people might be objected to leaving not just their personal possessions, but also their families, friends, neighborhood, culture-center. To abandon New Orleans is to abandon the Cajun artistic architecture, and general lifestyle. Yeah, they could still listen to the same music, eat the same food, etc. somewhere else, but its the group of people together that creates the community and the lifestyle.
