I'm not as interested in using existing neurons to program behavior (though I am interested in neuron-computer hookups to the degree they may enable virtual reality). Nature already does that well enough and I think it`d be terribly... gauche for humans to basically steal the technology. Memristors are a much better candidate for supplanting neurons because they`re purely the product of human ingenuity.
