Nothing can escape after it passes the event horizon, not even light. This gives the area inside of the event horizon a black color, because we naturally see an absence of light as black. Used as a metaphor, you could say that the tickets were being sucked up, kind of like a black hole sucks up matter. I find it difficult to believe that an educated adult can be so stupid, and personally think that he's trying to make a case. /endrant
