Ah. So in the dystopic future where the flying robo-cops are chasing you down for individual thinking, all you have to do is show them a small square of led lights and they'll avoid you like the plauge. Got it.

The image that popped into my head when he started talking about his robot idea was a flying robot bumping over and over again into the closed part of a half-open window. I'm not sure this is really the best direction robotics could be going in.
