also; are you guys serious about it being mean? a dog has nothing to lose from this competition. not only does the dog have no idea what's going on (for all it knows, it`s getting lots of attention for no reason at all), even if it did it wouldn`t care! emphasis on outer appearance and its relationship to self worth is a strictly human attribute. all dogs care about is food :P

Those of you asking if they made their dogs look like that in purpose, the dogs are Chinese Cresteds. They're supposed to be mostly hairless; they are pretty funky looking dogs and they don`t age well.

Seems like only Chinese Cresteds get very far in the competition since the first one who held the title for years before he died not too long ago.
