Well wrestling as we know it pretty much came from the ancient Greeks, who did it completely naked. And homosexuality was actually looked very highly upon by the Greeks (even deified), especially in the athletic world. Often times, to further display their dominance, they would then sodomize their opponent. So yeah...this is pretty gay. And Iiiii like it!
