i don't think it had to be made into such a big deal..that boy could have easily attended prom without the dress. the dress was merely a "look at me, look at me" device,a desperate cry for attention. and that girl...hardly unique. she`s exactly like all the other "unique" girls out there...just a little easier on the eyeliner,perhaps.

As long as it's actually appropriate attire, they should let him. Who cares about his motive? thats irrelevent to the fact that it`s his right, to where what he pleases. ThursdayLark raises the point that it`s voluntary, but prom is very special to alot of people, and they want that night to be exactly right. He`s not daring enough to wear it day to day, because the pressure from other people is a hell of a lot greater than his vague identity issues. Give him this night to be who he wants to.
