No one can say that stereotypes aren`t effecting black children

I mentored and taught children in the ninth ward (very bad neighborhood) in New Orleans and I will never forget this one time in particular I asked a little boy about 11 years old who gave me frequent trouble why he always felt the need to misbehave and his answer was...

"Because I`m black."

Also this 12 year old black girl named Kaylin who I had to have multiple heart to hearts with because she refused to speak with other black children because in her words,

"Black people give me a bad name."

the stories are endless...
