How is it cruel? It sends impulses to their nerves/muscles whatever (i'm not a biologist), just like they were doing it themselves. It doesn`t hurt.

Hydolysate, bugs are so stupid they don't even know they`re alive. It really, really doesn`t matter what we do to them. Although the moth looked kinda pitiable, I must say.

"seriously, what new information can be achieved from this? Yes, I do think it is cruel and unnecessary."
The ability to link robotic limbs to the brain so people who have lost an arm / leg can have that function back. or for people who have lost their eye sight can have a robotic eye instead.
also its not crule at all. if it can give something back to poeple who have lost something or born with out. then its worth it.
and dont say " how about we do these tests on you!" bollocks. the whole point of doing it on animals / insects is so that it doesnt have to be done on humans
