Ah, you countered just about a whole argument with one sentence, being that you decide to put yourself in that position. It's hard to argue against that point.
I honestly had to do it though, because I laughed when you said you go to bars to pick up chicks while arguing against secondhand smoke. It might have just been the way you worded it, or maybe it`s just because I`m a smoker and found it funny in retrospect, I`m not 100% sure.

Good counter argument though. I could probably go find another study of deaths attributed to this and that...but I won`t do that because I`m pretty sure you could come up with a valid counter argument for anything I throw at you.

I think we`re even.

Oh nonononono, I'm not defending that promiscuous sex isn`t a source of diseases. It is.

My rant is more towards smokers who go up in flames when someone attacks their right.

Though yes, to be honest I will be in a similar situation if someone were to attack my right to have promiscuous sex. It is still my decision to put myself in harm`s way.

But as I pointed out, smoking is quite different to airborne diseases, as one is controllable while the other isn`t something you`d realize immediately. People can`t know if that sneeze aimed at you would cause a disease. But people do know that blowing billows of smoke in my direction has a more obvious potential of being harmful and it can be avoided.

But yes Pimptastical, you are absolutely correct with regards to sexual practices.

To Pabasa:
Don't get me wrong by saying that you`re directly exposed to the std`s at a constant rate, but do you really want something which your rubber doesn`t need to break for you to get?

Think it over, more people die/have died from airborne diseases than secondhand smoke deaths will be able to cover for hundreds of years. By that time though, more people will have died from the airborne diseases and secondhand smoke will likely NEVER cover that.
I`m not going to give a source for that info because it`s so easily found and really doesn`t take too much brain power to realize it.

Pabasa: I don't drink I don`t smoke. I go to bars to hook up (and I use rubber too).

July 2007
"Secondhand smoke causes approximately 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 46,000 heart disease deaths in adult nonsmokers in the United States each year."

"Based on an analysis of national health data, researchers said 20 million adverse health events occur each year as a result of sexual behavior. An additional 30,000 deaths each year are attributable to sexual behavior translating to 2 million years of lost life, according to the study."

January 2005
What if your rubber breaks or has a hole in it not visible to the human eye in the first place? 49,300 deaths by secondhand smoke versus 30,000 deaths by sex
