David Lynch on Product Placement. David Lynch could win the `08 Presidential Election with this clip alone. It has nothing to do with politics and is NSFW

The correct answer is NO.
You are an artist, you do not have the right to sell your artistic liberty for money. What you would be doing is allowing exploitation.
A good movie has no product placement. A bad movie needs product placement; such as Talladega Nights, I Robot, Transformers; otherwise, the director would not be making as much money as he could.
And WTF are you bringing Michelangelo into this for? He didn't put product placement onto his paintings you dumb fu*k.
Product placement is exactly what David Lynch says it is. Anyone who fails to see this is a deluded retard who doesn`t know how to appreciate the finer things in life.

"Advertising and media go hand in hand. Why did Michelangelo paint the Sistene Chapel? Because he was PAID to do so, and was paid to depict biblical stories in an artistically beautiful way. He was paid to sell religion. Why would anyone pay for a bunch of idiots to piss around doing "Art" without a potential economic return? It's work, and work has to be paid for. David Lynch can make films no one understands and get paid for it, but he`s one in a million. For us working artists, we welcome someone with deep pockets to let us explore our creativity."
So on that retarded note you sell-out; If you were to paint a painting of a beautiful landscape someone asked you to paint, but Nike came up to you and offered you money to add their logo onto your landscape, you would do it. And if, say, Nokia, Prudential, Ford, Marlboro, Microsoft, Century 21, Smith & Smith Attorneys at law, came to you, you would still do it becuase they "support you".
