I got to see a screening of Cloverfield lastnight- this scene doesn't come up in the movie at all. And it`s not an oil rig that collapses, but an oil barge that is damaged as the first disaster of the movie. It`s only about an hour and 15 minutes long, and doesn`t end the way most people are trying to speculate- but holy crap, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Really, it`s an awesome movie. I can`t wait to see it again to catch the little things I`m sure I missed.
Oh, also- there`s a video/picture out there that a fan did that`s a guess at what the creature looks like. It`s about 20% on, but not much more than that. Less body, less tails, more legs, FUNKY head, creepy "offspring."

Looking at the title I went into it thinking "Oooo is this a Cloverfield thing?" Because there are other news reports that sorta look like this one, but this is the only one I've actually seen the chuai oil rig. The others were just explosions from NYC. Where did this start from?
They should enhance the effects on the rig sinking, perhaps make more water splash around it so you don`t notice the rig effects that much, shorten this up, and throw it on TV with the "Cloverfield" title they use (so people realize it`s fake at the end). I think it`d be alot more captivating than the sped up "We could die in the subway" one they`ve got running now. But this movie`s achieving its goal, building up so much hype that many want to go see it, even if it fails. This movie could be so much better if at some points they broke away from the blair witch style, like near the end. Which I`m hoping they did, because of that one part in the trailer where you can see th
