Yeah I agree, guns don't kill people, but they make it far too easy for people to kill each other. It takes determination to get up close and kill someone in unarmed combat or with a knife etc, none at all to stand 20 feet away and blow their brains out.

I am still trying to figure out why the comment is anyone holding a gun feels powerful. Holding any weapon compared to someone who is unarmed will make any maladjusted individual feel powerful, it doesn't matter if its a gun or a large rock. As for me, I own several firearms, does it make me powerful no, they are a hobby and enjoy using them responsibly. As for personal protection, if someone broke into my house I would probably act like the responsible person and use a blunt object, it causes a lot less headache in the long run.
