I don't want to try to learn Portuguese. Who says I don`t speak a different language, anyways? Oh, right...Americans are too stupid for that... I point this out because not only is it grammatically incorrect (which happens to be my pet peeve) but the mistake completely threw off your entire point. If the word you had wanted was `overrun` then I wouldn`t have made a big deal of it. _____________________________________________ Not to like, diss my fellow-American or anything, but you should have used the subjunctive tense in the last sentence. "If the word you had wanted WERE `overrun` then I wouldn`t have made a big deal of it." Now that I look at it, "overrun" should be in double-quotations, not single (in England they use single quotations first, then double, I believe.)
