I think this is true and it did happen to my husband. This happen on a fishing boat in Alaska. They insured my husband to fix their boat.

wow, funny how Michael Moore told us about dead peasants insurance years ago in "Dude, Where's My Country".. but no one pays attention to that, huh

I agree with GanjaMan. As long as I can take a life inssurance that my family will get money from, I don't care if someone else take a life insurrance on for which they`ll get the money.

"Most states also have advise and consent laws that technically require companies to get workers permission before buying life insurance on them. But attorney Myers said many businesses circumvent these laws by purchasing the insurance in one of the states that doesnt require notice or consent, including Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Vermont."

So if you know that your boss makes lots of trips to those states, CONFRONT!! He/she may have some 'splaining to do.

That is utterly bereft of any good moral disposition. What a pooty, ghoulish notion that a soulless goddamn company actually benefits from an Employees Demise.

Whats infuriating is that a goup of effing suits at a LOT of companies actually sat around and decided it would be socially acceptable. The act is reprehensible and draconian.
