I agree. There`s something to be said about the traditional vows. They`re strong and (ideally) long-lasting, and basically what marriage is about. I don`t see why so many people are too willing to replace them with feel-good slush.
I`m not saying that all rewritten vows are feel-good slush, if you can come up with something better than the traditional ones which ARE vows, not compliments, and stay true to the heart of marriage, then go ahead.
