it's interesting that we always predict that the future will come faster than it really will.
take "Back To the Future," it`s almost 2010, the year that they travel to in the movie, with the flying cars and the 3d billboards, and we are no where near it.

Haha, waterproof furniture thats funny, actually some of these could be done but it would cost a lot of money, like melting dishes and solar powered items. The lake on the roof for air-conditioning idea was dumb but it would be fun to have.

Of course the social standards are the same. They couldn't imagine back then having women *gasp!* leave the home and work instead of being a slave to the men! They did predict some things right, but not exactly. Their disposible plates idea is not too far off, we just throw them in a garbage than melt them. They rightly predicted that cancer is not cured yet! I think that they overlook the "waterproof" house. What if you bring in a book? You`re screwed. As if everything in the house would be plastic, that would suck. That`s the 50s for ya.
