I wasn't aware there was a difference..? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I`m more into R&B, but there is a difference between hip-hop and rap. Hip-hop focuses more on beats and rythm, while rap is mainly lyrical. Not to mention, rap has a tendency to be more graphic. Common, Q-tip, Missy Elliot, Lyfe Jennings, or Mos Def would be considered Hip-hip, Jay-Z, Tupac, Dr. Dre, and Eminem are rap, (and 50 Cent the like are crap.)
