It's not being lazy, it`s being efficient and smart.

And as for the whole "whether it`s ok to use your own previous works in later essays" subject that went on between CINDY and JEN: It IS allowed to reuse your own work in your papers so long as you properly cite it. And as for RE-submitting papers, it all depends on the criteria--for example, it is perfectly acceptable to submit very old essays when applying to a department (though some people may specify against this).
