Twist_13, you are being a jerk. I think if someone really needed it, I wouldn't be completely opposed to someone using my face (as long as I`m dead first and all that) but I do understand what Overmann`s saying. And I don`t think it`s a good enough reason to not have face transplants at all if the parties are all willing, but he`s not saying that, he`s just saying why he, himself, is uncomfortable with it. And it`s a valid reason, and true. It has nothing to do with vanity as he`s already mentioned, and it has even less to do with twins which is completely off the topic.

What is the big deal? She has someone's face(Which probably doesn`t look like the original)and she tried to kill herself. Well, better close the suicide ward- wouldn`t want anyone to live...Didn`t anyone consider the fact that maybe her life sucked? She was a druggie and wanted to die. How can we judge her? Are you perfect? Should we let all drug addicts die? It`s quite sad...actually. Yes, she caused it herself in many ways but all of the stupid crap that hurts all of us is caused by ourselves, too. Should we all be cold about eachother`s plites?
Just seems to me that no one has the right to say if she deserved it or not. It`s done...someone lives while someone died. Why get into hysterics about it?
And WTF does her smoking have to do with anything? Are smokers less deserving? Hell, if my face had been eaten off by my dog- I wouldn`t just be smoking cigarretes...I`d be chiefing.

Sure, that's why this lady is getting all the attention right now. But what you`re missing is that it`s someone elses` face (whether that person is deceased or not) meaning this recipient is usurping a portion of that person`s identity, at least physically.
