Israeli Settlers Walk Into A Palestinian House...

This footage, filmed and published in 2009, gives you an intimate yet disturbing close-up of colonial expansion and occupation. Watch as over a dozen Jewish settlers make their way into a Palestinian home in Jerusalems Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and lay claim to a section of the property. The home belonged to the Al-Kurd family. Rifqa Al-Kurd, 90, attempted to keep the settlers from entering the home but the settlers quickly moved around her, bringing their own belongings into the house and removing the familys belongings from the premises. According to the videos description, a previous court order administered by an Israeli judge transferred ownership rights over part of the house to a family of Jewish settlers. It is unclear if any appeals were made on behalf of the Al-Kurd family, but considering Israels longstanding history of ignoring land ownership deeds held by Palestinians, it is unlikely that the situation would have changed.

Decide it`s theirs. But hey, why not?

These settlements aren't just random uninhabited land, they`re the water-rich, prime real-estate. This also creates a problem of Palestinian people trying to go from village A to B, but running into Israeli military, who periodically kill civilians (usually males, ranging from teenagers to young adults)

The maps 5cats put up are deceptive. A major misconception is that there are clear Israeli lands and Palestinian lands. In truth Israel is whole whereas Palestine is a fractured bits and pieces under Israel occupation. Israeli settlers (extremists by typical Israeli's standards) continuously claim more and more of the remaining Palestinian land for themselves and then are are protected by the Israeli military. Here is a more accurate map of the situation:

As for the MSM being biased against Israel comment, that has got to be the most ridiculous statement I`ve ever seen. Israel is currently bombing Gaza densely populated civilian areas murdering men women and children without a peep in the MSM outlets. This comment alone tells me 5cats in disingenuous. Google some real news of the goings ons. Here

I know I've made jokes about Israel`s PR, but I`m serious.

We all agree that Israel tends to get the bad publicity. It sucks but they need to recognize that. They need to be more strategic, instead of waves of air strikes that ultimately kill innocents as well.

We need to remember that if the situation isn`t dealt with carefully, it will only cause more resentment, and more hate for future generations to fight over. It could easily, and significantly increase terrorist recruitment worldwide...

I certainly don't oppose the rest of the Arabic world`s intervention, if to help negotiate peace. I would actually encourage it. As for ultimately drawing up the borders, that will have to be negotiated (mediated) between the two parties involved.

The rockets will never stop as long as the borders stay as they are. Palestine is even more fractured than it was in inception! Truth be told, Israel could just up and leave occupied Palestine tomorrow, and the attacks wouldn`t suddenly stop...I never suggested they would. I suggested a slow and safe withdraw, to encourage peace efforts.

I don`t disagree that Hamas has intertwined itself with the government there, and full scale military action MAY be needed....it just SHOULDN`T be Israel acting alone. Ideally, it would be with more international support, including other Arab nations...

"Jewish Palestine" = Israel. @jays... that should be obvious...

"giving part of Syria" Because that's where the Palestinians LIVE! At least back then. That map is based on population distribution AND the borders at the time. Again, should be obvious...

You`d leave it up to them? So you oppose the REST of the Arabic world`s interventions? Yes?
And their military INVASIONS too? True, you DO acknowledge Israel`s right to exist... unlike others...

But the "current" borders would work just fine IF THE ARABS stopped shooting rockets at Israel`s civilians! Israel should simply ANNEX the West Bank and say "that`s that" just like Russia!!

Not the "best" solution but better than ANYTHING John Kerry has offered... OR Hillary Clinton before him!

Side Note: Before Egypt disintegrated into chaos? THEY had their border with Gaza SEALED TIGHT too. Just like Israel, and for the same reasons: terror attack
