RedLetterMedia's Star Trek: Galaxy "re:View"

Submitted by: kalron 1 week ago in Entertainment Funny

Gerry1of1, this one is for you buddy, I am very interested in hearing your opinion on what they discuss in the video.

With that, what does IAB think about the return of Captain Picard?  Can CBS do something that isn't Discovery or will they just flub this up too?

Set your phasers to funny :)

Patrick Stuart's best work is still his guest appearance on Frasier.

holygod While I consider Picard one of the best performances of Star Trek history...I'd argue his American Dad appearance as Director Avery Bullock to be superior...

What they discuss is their own guesses, not anything concrete about the show's format.

Considering how they have ruined 'Discovery'   I dread to think what they will do with Picard.
At the end of the series, Picard has incurable Space-Alzheimers so where do you go from there?
Diapers that are teleported on?

melcervini So good and I agree with you kalron, Star Strek was about finding Solutions other than Violence.

melcervini I recently watched that episode.  One of my favorites and a good representation of what Star Trek is about as well as what Mike and Rich describe as the problem with recent attempts.

In the episode, violence was not the solution, even though it was the easiest route when interpreting the situation.  Communication, understanding and cooperation was the solution in the end.

Ah...Star Trek...

kalron The writers were above and beyond which is why I love the Orville.  MacFarlane hired some TNG writers for the show.

Orville Season 2 Trailer    Eeeeee! I can't wait!

melcervini Neither can I actually.  I'm surprised that Patrick Stewart hasn't made an appearance yet considering his relationship with MacFarlane.

Gerry1of1 Oh no doubt it was their own ideas, but considering your take on Discovery I thought you would appreciate some like-mindedness when it comes to how Star Trek should be presented.

I think you would get an even bigger kick out of them tearing Discovery a new Worm Hole so to speak ;)  They actually jokingly called some of the "twists" while reviewing the pilot EP.

Gerry1of1 Hey!  It looks like the original Enterprise NCC-1701!!!!

The spin gimmick of Discovery is due to some idiot writer who couldn't think of a new idea so he stole it from the internet ;)

...and a pizza slicer from the internet no less...

Jesus, no kids.  Didn't they learn their lesson with Wesley?  Nobody wants to see precocious, super genius kids who save the day.  Kids are just about the death of every show ever.

kelly_hanna Tell that to the likes of Stranger Things...

However, as Mike states, Geordi's "kids" would actually be closer to adults in this time frame, with one part of Star Fleet.  I don't see why that couldn't work.

kalron different kettle of fish.  Stranger Things was a show primarily centering on a group of kids.  Not a bunch of adults, doing adult things, and suddenly shifting focus.

kelly_hanna I would kind of have to disagree.  Stranger Things, at least the first season, split the focus between the kids, the teens and the adults and had them all come together in the end.  Granted, the kids were the main focus but the others, especially Hopper, had their own tale to tell.

kalron Show was about the kids.  The adults were minor characters.  Without the kids, there wouldn't have been a show.  The only purpose of the adults was to run around and say, 'Where are the kids?'  Even the adults were about the kids.
