A while back I submitted an article about 18 freedoms we lost under Obama. For some reason it didn't get posted. So dose any posts about Obama that shows him any less than Saintly

dm2754 8 years of kissing Obama's ass wasn't enough! We'll get 8 more years of Obama's ass-rainbows now... and not one word of the good things happening under Trump (unless they can pretend Obama did it, then maybe).

boredhuman You could have put together a video like this from any good political speech (and many bad ones).
It feels as though you were making a point, but I may not be smart enough to get it.
This could be a 'teachable moment'. You could explain to the rest of us what the purpose of this post was.

semichisam01 The point is: it's a silly video. You want to top it? - find a video of Trump pauses... That would truly be Zen.
Maybe, just maybe a few people will actually be interested in what Obama said between the pauses. I don't mind giving exposure to a politician I respect...

boredhuman He'd say things like "if you like your doctor? you can keep your doctor" only with several pauses and a couple of "eefs" mixed in... :-)

"You didn't (pause) build that (pause) somebody else, um, built that!" the great orator! Helpless without the teleprompter, lolz!

Waiting for the teleprompter to change its screen? LMAO!
One could make a similar video of his st-t-tammering eh? Great orator my ass...

Anyhow, easily the best parts of his speech, the rest was drivel:

gohikineko The link in your comment wasn't about Obama's speech. Did you intend to use a different link?

"the rest was drivel:" According to Merriam-Webster, 'drivel' is an intransitive verb, not a noun. Why would that matter? Imprecise speech or writing implies imprecise thought processes.
One meaning of 'drivel' is to drool. Metaphorically, that could apply to writing as well as to speech.

gohikineko I've always, and only, ever heard the word "drivel" used in exactly the way that you did.

broizfam Thanks for the support, dude! I know it refers to drooling (verb) too, but yeah I typically use it as a noun.
I also call the drool itself 'drivel' but that's probably a local custom ;-)

gohikineko "You answered your own question"
The only question I asked you was, "Did you intend to use a different link?" I could not have answered that question.
I have noticed that you have an unfortunate tendency to see only a 'triggering' word or phrase in a comment. You then seem unable or unwilling to comprehend the rest of the comment. This makes conversation with you very nearly impossible, since you always seem to be addressing some imaginary third party.

semichisam01 "Why would that matter?" (two questions there matey! 2) It matters because you were wrong, it has another use which you yourself mentioned at the end. Thus you've answered your own question.

And also that's an expression eh? You accused me of wrongdoing, then proved I did it right. Shot yourself in the foot eh? (note: that's another expression, ok? You didn't literally fire a bullet into your own foot, as far as I'm aware)

The rest of your comment doesn't require any response.

gohikineko '"Why would that matter?" (two questions there matey!'

Oh, my goodness! That was what debaters call a 'rhetorical question', defined by Merrian Webster as "a question not intended to require an answer". I know that 'Debate' is not an offered elective in most schools today, but I keep forgetting.

I would never accuse you of 'wrongdoing'. I pointed out that you used a verb as if it were a noun. I thought you would want to know. When I defined the verb, it still remained a verb. I can't change that.

You get pretty excited, pretty quickly. Do you own a sphygmomanometer?

semichisam01 But you bitched at me in another thread for "not answering your questions" and they were even worse (more rhetorical) than that one...
I merely pointed out that you didn't ask one question, but 2. It is irrelevant if one or both were rhetorical or not. :-p Oh, my goodness! You were wrong! Lozl!

And you are wrong, it can and is properly used as a noun (scroll down a bit, the second definition).
I await your apology.

gohikineko "And you are wrong, it can and is properly used as a noun (scroll down a bit, the second definition)."

The second definition in the link you provided is "to talk stupidly and carelessly". In other words, it's still a verb.
It isn't a big deal. You don't need to deny facts.
I do, however apologise to everyone who has to scroll through this nonsense. I'll stop here.

semichisam01 I guess that word above it: NOUN is just a typo then?

Freaking seriously dude, give it up: you don't even know how to read a dictionary? The second definition is:

2 drivel
noun

Definition of drivel

1 archaic : drool 1
2 : nonsense : Don't waste your time reading such drivel

See that 2 there? Second definition, the verb has a 1 beside it. The examples are definitions of the meaning of that form. I even told you to scroll down! But you didn't! So stfu already if you cannot be honest about anything.
