Ye olde education program from 1964. The money shot is around 6 minutes, but I highly recommend you watch the whole thing.

The amount of cool shows made in Australia back when I was a kid makes me miss my childhood.

My older sister was in the audience for an episode taping of this show. If I asked her about it today, I'd bet she'd still be able to describe every single thing he did, she was so fascinated.

Nice video, the end was a bit worrying.

Shouldn't he have gloves on for that sort of thing?

daegog The question was worrying... Will the iron ball go up or down?

Hint: what if mercury was poured on top instead of water?

daegog The suggestion of swiming in quick silver.
He didn't touch the liquid with his hands. (they did not account for evaporation and inhaling)

monsta420 absolutely, we used to push puddles of the stuff around our desks in school science lessons. Changed days. 1964? I remember it .. just.
