Leigh Holland Is Only The Second Woman To Ever Lift Scotland's "Dinnie Stones"

Submitted by: fancylad 2 months ago in News & Politics Sports

An excerpt from The Guardian: The two granite boulders known as the Dinnie Stones together weigh nearly 332.5kg. Ninety men have lifted them since their rediscovery in 1953 – they are named after Donald Dinnie, who carried them across Potarch bridge in Aberdeenshire in 1860 – and just one woman, Jan Todd, who lifted them in 1979.

On Sunday, Australia's Leigh Holland-Keen became only the second woman to do it. "It was fantastic, quite an emotional experience,” she says from her hotel room in Scotland. "I felt ecstatic to be able to do that, and having the crowd being so positive created an amazing atmosphere. It was something special. I’m hoping other women can look at me and say: 'That’s something I can definitely work towards.'"

Question is she really a woman or a man pretending to be?
She doesn't look like a Olympic powerlifter

dm2754 I would date her in a second. She's very attractive. Plus, moving the bedroom furniture around would never be an issue.

mrteatime Do you sound like the bystanders in this video, MrTeatime? If so, I like you even more than before.

squrlz4ever Similar, slightly different dialect I suppose but very Scottish. I generally speak with a more neutral tone day to day though, depending on the company I'm in.

She's attractive too, methinks. Also, I liked some of the Scottish voices calling out encouragement: "'ave a go! C'mon!" "Be the fust! Be the fust!"
