Have You Ever Seen Light Move?

An ultra high-speed camera slows down light enough for us to watch it travel. Science, bitches!

casaledana My wife 'proved' she could see behind her - our sons were too young to notice how I'd silently communicate what they were doing.  At one point the eldest (he was 3 or 4) was pushing his hands through her hair at the back of her head looking for her extra pair of "mom" eyes.

uh.. this isn't a high speed camera catching the same light photon, but several hundred photons over several hundred 'snapshots'.

monkwarrior Agreed. It is a high speed camera, but not in the traditional sense. You'd agree that the video shows how light moves, right? Or would you also criticize a 'movie' for lacking movement, because it's just a bunch of still images?

boredhuman We'll see when we get a camera that can take like trillions of frames per second, but it's an interesting example for the time being

monkwarrior Well, this camera has a trillion frames per second (0:48). What will more frames per second give you?

boredhuman as mentioned its a bit of a 'hack' and interesting for the time being.  Things may be different if we can make a camera that can actually capture it in real time.

monkwarrior Well retard, proof again god is fallible.

If you believed your own bullshit you would have said that god produced all those photons, therefore they are all the same and the pictures in the 'god photon collecting snapshot device' which god willed into existence are all identical.

Fucktard. (Can we bring this word back? I like it so much and lets face it, god invented it for us to use)
